Mondays 6:60 to 8pm
Age Group: 8 to 10½ years

Age Group: 10½ to 14 years

The History........

The Committee’s role is to maintain the Scout Hut and support the group and this is done mainly through fund raising.
Our main fund raising events are the Hale Fete and Carnival and Christmas Tree Sale.
The Hale Fete and Carnival is held on the first Saturday of July at which we open out Scout Hut and sell tea, coffee, soft drinks and home made cakes. Also with the help of a few parents we were able to run some stalls, such as skittles, “guess the number of sweets in a jar”, maggot racing. (link to Carnival Web site?). The Group also participate in the Carnival.
We have for many years been selling Christmas Trees on Hale Recreational Green opposite the Ball and Wicket Pub. This takes place in December usually on the two weekends prior to Christmas day.
Other fund raising events that we have held are Quiz Nights, Skittles Evening and Dances with live band and buffet.
Through doing such events this has enabled the Committee, over recent years, to replace all fan heaters in the main hall; replacing pioneering poles and ropes; new tents; purchase of new tables and benches and floor mats; cleaning and retreating the mess tent; the upkeep of the climbing wall and climbing equipment.
Our most recent project has been the much needed repairs to the fabric of the building and painting to the exterior of the Scout Hut.
Like any voluntary group we are always looking for more help whether you are a parent, carer or grandparent either to support the Leaders or to join our committee or to help us out occasionally. Please contact Manda - tel: 01252 718275.
